Top 5 Wednesday: 2017 Goals

Bookish Goals

I am going to lower my reading goal to 50 books this year and try to stick to it as much as possible. There are other things I really want to do, so I have to give up 30+ books probably in order to make that happen.

I need to do a serious book cull. Get. Rid. Of. Books!

Only purchase favorite books or authors

Read all books I currently own

Expand my reading genres. Maybe contemporary?

Blogging Goals

Post 2-3 times a week

I’m going to be starting a new post series or meme I gust you could call it. I couldn’t find anyone who has done it yet, so maybe I’ll be the first. It will probably be a once a month thing. Hopefully, I will be able to do the first of these posts this month. Keep an eye out for it!

I really hope to gain another 100 followers this year.

Other Goals

I want to start keeping track of which movies I watchΒ and want to watch and come up with a good, simple rating system for them. I think I plan on using Letterboxd for this. There was another site I really liked but it wouldn’t allow you to add upcoming movies to your watch list (which is really stupid).

  1. You haven’t played Witcher 3 yet? It’s AWESOME! And don’t skip the dlc’s – the stories are great, especially in Heart of stone. But the other one has a fantastic map πŸ˜€

      1. Never played that one, I think it’s only on console isn’t it? I only have a PC, but at least games are cheaper πŸ˜›
Right now I’m playing Risen 3 and it’s quite good too.

  2. I love these goals! I definitely need to go on a book buying ban soon, because I’m buying WAAAY too many books at one time. But I haven’t bought physical copies in so long that I’m going a little overboard trying to add to my shelves. I definitely need to read all the books I’ve bought, too. I think I have over 15 I haven’t read. I’ve just received A Darker Shade of Magic and I’m really excited to be reading that one this month! I really hope you enjoy the Six of Crows duology and ACOTAR and ACOMAF. They were definitely my favorite books of 2016. And The Last of Us is phenomenal. Probably the best story-based video game I’ve ever played. I really hope you enjoy that one, too! πŸ˜€

  3. I have the hardest time culling my book collection and I don’t even know how I would. *sigh* An admirable goal to say the least. Luckily, I have lots of shelf space! Great post, and I hope that you’re having a great New Year!

  4. Great goals πŸ™‚ I’m also going to try to read all the books I already own in 2017. Or at least shorten the pile a lot . Have you played The Last of us? It is sooooooo good, one of my favorites of all time.

  5. Awesome goals! I also plan to “cull the heard”of books I own and continue my “Read 1500 (pages), buy 1” Challenge (which works out really well for me because I only have a certain number of earned “vouchers” to spend on new books so I don’t overdo it. My family loves boardgames,so I made note of some of the really neat titles you’ve listed! Good luck with your goals this year πŸ™‚
