I am a 27-year-old stay-at-home mom to two beautiful children. I am addicted to reading fantasy novels–middle grade, young adult, or adult, it doesn’t matter! I’m a binge reader though so all the books in the series have to be released (or close to it) before I start it.
I also love graphic novels! I am hoping to branch out into mystery or horror eventually, but I will have to look into good gateway novels for those genres.
I’m going to try bullet journaling for 2017, so we will see how that goes. My other hobbies include scrapbooking, board games, and video games (when I find the time).
I hate tea, love Starbucks, and chocolate is my weakness.
Oh! and just so you know… I have the most amazing husband anyone could ever hope to have, and the most adorable and lovable 4-year-old and 1-year-old you will ever meet.
If you would like to know more just look below…
I have two cats and a dog; Sherlock, Watson, and Nymeria. I have two kids (4 and 1) and an amazing husband who is currently in grad school at Notre Dame.
My favorite color is baby blue
I rarely listen to music (yes, I know I’m weird)
I celebrate Christmas, but not for religious reasons
I used to play sports in middle school, like a lot, but now I’m away from all of that and pretty much hate talking about sports. I much prefer discussions about books or movies. Occasionally, I will watch a baseball or football game but since we don’t have cable it is fairly difficult.
I tend not to be much of a people person. I am shy and don’t like to instigate conversations. Someday I hope to meet some people who love board games, and books, but don’t like drinking or talking endlessly about sports. 🙂 I moved away from all my friends so we don’t talk much and I have changed a lot over the years so our interests probably aren’t the same anymore. I just focus on my family and raising my kids.
I Love almost anything breakfast related
I Hate vegetables with a passion
My favorite candies include Riesens, Rolos, Carmellos, and Cookies n’ Creme.
I love coffee, mostly Starbucks Fraps and Mochas. Hot Chocolate is amazing too!
I don’t like tea 😦 well…there is one kind, but it was from China and I can’t read Chinese 😦 some sort of super sweet dried fruit.
Scrapbooking, Reading, Blogging, Board Games, and Video Games.
My Favorite TV Shows:
The Flash, Arrow, Outlander, Gilmore Girls, Heartland, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Stranger Things, Death Note, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, iZombie, Friends
My Favorite Movies:
Harry Potter, Alien, Bambi, The Lion King, Inside Out, Finding Dory, National Treasure, Deadpool, Home Alone, Toy Story, The Hunger Games, Dr. Strange
My Favorite Authors:
In order to be a favorite author of mine, I would have to like several books or series that they have written.
Brandon Sanderson tops my list at #1 🙂 If he wrote it, I am buying it!
Potential favorite authors include Cinda Williams Chima, Marissa Meyer, Brandon Mull, Joe Abercrombie, Mark Lawrence, John Flanagan, and Maggie Stiefvater
Fantasy all the way. I’m obsessed with it! This includes children, young adult, and adult, as well as graphic novels/comics
I HATE romance novels
I hope to venture into other genres eventually including horror and mystery but have no idea where to start. I’ll have to do some research.
I am actually enjoying ebook copies a lot more than physical just because they are easy to get from the library. It is a lot of work taking two kids with you, so just being able to download them makes my life so much easier.
If there is a book I believe I will thoroughly enjoy I will get a physical copy of that. I made a new pact with myself to only buy my favorite books since I have limited shelf space. If I’m not sure whether or not I will like it then I get it from the library first.
I do prefer hardback over paperback almost all the time. However, I tend not to like Deckle Edge.
I tend not to start a series until all the books have been or are soon to be released; I really enjoy binge reading!
If you want to know my favorite books just check out my “favorite books” page on my blog. I update it all the time.
